When award-winning chef Matt Healy chose The Beehive in Thorner as his third planned eatery in Leeds, we were thrilled to collaborate with the renowned foodie.
The designers' brief? Create a distinctive gastropub aesthetic within this beautiful old village inn.Promoting a warm, welcoming yet contemporary environment to complement the chef's unique dining experience: pub classics with a signature modern twist, we were keen to discuss the project in more detail.
Keen to make an entrance, a chevron timber floor acts as a travellator, pulling you in, down a decorated corridor adorned by famed local artist Nicolas Dixon. Elsewhere, a more muted floor and wall finishes encourage a calm and relaxed atmosphere while dining. Meanwhile, carefully poised injections of colour provide added interest, including Matt's own established teal brand colour.
Careful consideration has been given to materials and textures, with selected hand finishes in the bar area ensuring both individuality and effect.
Leathers used were Apache and a specially commissioned Teal colour
